VSF 2024 endeavors to address and lay the groundwork for the consideration, concretization, and implementation of the draft Project “Development of Green and Sustainable Financial Market in Vietnam"
Held annually, the Vietnam Sustainability Forum (VSF) serves as a distinguished platform bringing together global leaders, policymakers, academics, businesses, entrepreneurs, and NGOs to exchange ideas and deliberate upon initiatives, global developmental best practices, and prevailing trends in sustainable development. The fundamental mission of the VSF is to foster the enduring advancement of an inclusive and equitable society, where prosperity harmoniously intertwines with environmental sustainability.
This year, VSF 2024, jointly organized by AVSE Global and the Banking Academy of Vietnam (BAV), under the patronage of the State Bank of Vietnam, will explore the esteemed theme of “Green & Sustainable Finance.” The main event is scheduled for December 11, 2024, at Melia Hotel, Hanoi. In addition, the Forum will feature side events, bilateral and multilateral dialogues, and networking opportunities for experts and financial institutions both within and outside Vietnam.
The development of green bonds and sustainable financial instruments is emerging as one of the new economic development trends that supports sustainable development principles. Vietnam is expected to continue expanding its green finance sector, attracting significant investments aimed at reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable growth. This expansion of the green finance market allows Vietnam to seize opportunities and align with international green finance standards and further its environmental sustainability goals.
IS VIETNAM POISED TO MAKE SUBSTANTIAL ADVANCEMENTS IN ITS COMMITMENT TO FOSTERING A GREEN FINANCE SECTOR AND PROMOTING SUSTAINABLE INVESTMENT PRACTICES?
This pivotal question stands as one of the central themes to be deliberated throughout the VSF 2024. Furthermore, it will also open the floor to solutions and proposals, laying the groundwork for exploring green financial solutions and realizing sustainable finance and investment programs in Vietnam. VSF 2024 presents an opportunity to discuss critical policy priorities and explore untapped opportunities for international collaboration, accelerating the crucial transformation of finance towards sustainable goals.
VSF 2024 endeavors to address and lay the groundwork for the consideration, concretization, and implementation of the draft Project “Development of Green and Sustainable Financial Market in Vietnam”. Given the importance of green finance mobilization policies in the global context, macro-level vision, and the financial-banking sector, the focus should be on policies that directly impact the behavior of banks, financial institutions, and businesses. This is especially relevant as Vietnam and other countries work toward the goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions.
